In this photoshop tutorial i will show you how to use dodge tool and burn tool properly 🙂

My target with this tutorial is to show beginners what is it and what is the use of this thing professional re-touching world. People who are familiar with the dodging and burn will find first half of the video pretty boring so i would suggest that you skip it and jump to the part where i am actually doing the image.

i will start from extreme basics like how to create a new layer and then fill it with 50% Gray color. will also show that what is dodge tool and different uses of it. Knowledge about mid-tones, highlights and shadows. The importance of using protective tones.

I have used image of a male model from deviant art and if you wish to use the same image for practice the download link is in the description.

The whole image took me around 2-3 hours to finish the whole dodge and burn and that is the reason why i did not do the whole job in the video. But still i have shown you the original file and put it on the full screen so you guys can study it and have some help from it. I have done almost full job on the face to demonstrate the method.
