    Hi Darrel: The difference between Universities and Colleges used to be that the Universities granted doctoral degrees (PHD) and colleges didn't. Here's a definition on the question that I found online: A "university" is a group of schools for studies after secondary school. At least one of these schools is a college where students receive a bachelor's degree. The other schools in a university are"graduate" (also known as "postgraduate") schools where students receive advanced degrees. Therefore, a university offers both the bachelor's degree and graduate degrees such as the master's (M.A.) and doctorate (Ph.D.).

    That all sounds fine, but Boston College grants doctoral degrees as well as some other very prestigious colleges I believe. So I give up. However, the California State Colleges didn't grant doctoral degrees back then. I don't know if they do now or not. I was a student at San Jose State College when the name change went into effect (1970's) and we were never given an explanation for the change. So what's in a name? I guess it just depends on who you ask? But I still tell people I attended San Jose State College and like that name better than the University handle. And here's something that ought to make the younger viewers of your videos a little crazy. When I attended San Jose State College, it was free! It was just one of the perks of being a resident of the State of California. We paid a $35.00 admission fee for paperwork and that was it. State and Junior colleges in California were all free in those days as California was one of the richest State in the Country.

    Hey Darrel, Thank you for your hard work. I'm hoping you might help me. I'm using Siteground, WordPress and really like the Divi product as I am new to web design. I'm on a Mac and am trying to create a site for my production company as well as showcase my current film in pre-production. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It's a bit overwhelming!
