How To Make an App – Ep 3 – Xcode 6 Tutorial

How To Make iPhone Apps with NO Programming Experience!
Lesson 3: Xcode 6 Tutorial
In this lesson, we walk through the main components and areas of Xcode 6. Take a tour of the app where you’ll spend most of your time in!

This video series uses the latest and greatest from Apple (Xcode 6, Swift, iOS 8) and will teach a beginner with no programming experience how to make iPhone apps. I’m creating these videos with the assumption that the student has no prior knowledge and is starting from scratch.

The lesson plan for the How To Make an App series can be found on my site here:

Hi Chris, when I run my project, the simulator window is very large meaning that I need to scroll up to see what I have done (e.g. the Label). Is there any way of making the simulator screen smaller so I don't need to scroll up to see the program. Thanks.

I can't press the play button. It tells me that I have to be enrolled in Apple Developer program. Is there any way I can test out apps in xCode without being part of the Apple Developer program?

    Hello Chris,
I am having issues running the iOS Simulator. When I click the Play button on the top left of the XCode app, the simulator appears as a black screen and does not load or change. Then, two error message windows pop up that say "Unable to boot iOS Simulator" and "An error was encountered while running (Domain = DTiPhoneSimulatorErrorDomain, Code = 2)". I have the latest version downloaded (6.1.1) as well as the latest version of OS X on my iMac. I have already tried restarting my computer as well as uninstalling and reinstalling XCode. Please help if you have a solution!
