    You should get the "Educator of the Year" Award. Seriously, you make more sense than the Stanford lectures. Thanks a million. The world's a better place because of you.

    he created a set method for both the X and Y in the same method, so he dont have to set the X and Y in two seperate statemants

    Ahh good point I completely missed that. Thank you

    To answer your question, @synthesize makes two methods called (in this case) – (void) setX; and – (void) setY;

    Bucky made the – (void) setXY; method to set both x and y in a single method call. There's no reason to do this, aside from a slight convenience over the synthesized methods. Functionality wise – they are identical, and redundant.

    Get Kochan's Programming in Objective C, and you will never need another tut. This guy, Bucky or whatever he is, is reading off of that book anyway…

    an outright COPY of Kochan's Programming in Objective C…. think of something original dude, or at least give due credits…

    silly question, but where do you go in XCode to change "____MyCompanyName___" ??? tia guys!

  16. FurryMuf Avatar

    @bloong1080 presumably, he did this, as the 'synthesized' methods can only be passed 1 parameter – the relevant 'number', in this, he's setting them both at the same time. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

    Respond to this video..

    @sacredgeometry This is my question as well…it seems redundant. He's done it in passed tutorials as well.

  19. sacredgeometry Avatar

    @cludRobot Yes I am asking myself questions, that's obviously what's going on here.

  20. cludRobot Avatar

    @sacredgeometry are you talking to yourself?

  21. Reflect Studios Avatar

    lol @ the 'what she said' joke.

  22. sacredgeometry Avatar

    @sacredgeometry just to clarify why do you nee to make this method?

    –(void) setXY: (int) xVal: (int) yVal{
    x = xVal;
    y = yVal;
    }
    ?

  23. sacredgeometry Avatar

    I am just wondering why he needed to make a setter for the x and y properties if you synthesised them as well? Cant you just access them by dot syntax? or is it out of scope? Sorry it's early and im re-going through these videos to refresh my memory.

    Peace

    @YUPjpn The application he is using is called Camtasia, which as you may guess, is for the Mac. If you look closely in the first tutorial of objective-c, the app on his dock is camtasia.
