I'm glad you figured it out. I'm sure I pointed that out, but I should have drawn more attention to that

Ughh, in-case anyone runs into this problem.. and It's possible you cover this in a later part of this tutorial series. But currently the dynamic_sidebar() has 2 active widgets on a fresh wordpress install.. One would have to delete the 2 active widgets for their custom sidebar to show!

I feel you buddy! Thanks for the assurance.. I will go over my code.

Everything still works because the themes are almost 100% HTML and CSS. I hope they never do anything crazy that would break themes.

Obviously it's always possible I missed something while following along as I was applying the same method to my own template.. I just wanted to rule out if it's possible that the newer versions of WordPress may of had some sort of conflict with Blank Theme.. If that's the case I will start over again!

Did you use my exact code, or did you doctor it in some way?

For some reason.. everything else is working fine (header[php]/footer[php]) except for the sidebar[php].. it's not being called wherever I place it.. Instead it's just the one from wp-includes/theme-compat/sidebar[php] .. Any ideas what could of happened?

Part 6 is called Creating a WordPress Theme. Part 7 is called WP_NAV_MENU. Sorry I did that because people asked me to stop using the part numbers. As you can see that was a bad idea 🙂

Great! Welcome to the short list of web designers that can make a WordPress theme from scratch. There is a great deal of money in making themes

This may be a stupid question but, after I create the next big thing theme on my localhost and assuming I have WP installed on my remote host server, how do I transfer the theme on localhost to remote host? Do I just copy my new theme folder and place it in the WP-content> themes folder on the host?
    Thanks,
    newbie

@ricardoamaldonadoh Install the version called New-Think-Tank-Theme-2 instead. If you need me to email it you just send me a message on YouTube. Thanks

@ricardoamaldonadoh Forget what I said about the plugins, because there aren't any. Everything is self contained. Maybe it has something to do with the spanish version? I just installed it and it worked. Did you install the theme by clicking on the Install theme tab and then upload the zipped version? I have 2 themes zipped into one folder in the zipped archive. You need to separate them before you install them. Sorry about that

@ricardoamaldonadoh You need to install the plugins in the plugin folder to get the rss feed and social media stuff to show up. Sorry for not explaining that
